Raiders Picking Off Packers’ Assistant Coaches

Defensive line coach Mike Trgovac will be joining former Green Bay Packers’ offensive coordinator Edgar Bennett with the Oakland Raiders.

The Raiders announced their full coaching staff on Thursday. Bennett joined the Raiders as wide receivers coach last week. Trgovac will serve in the same role with the Raiders that he did with the Packers.

Bennett was previously a receivers coach and running backs coach before being promoted to offensive coordinator. Both coaches were given the ax by Mike McCarthy following the season.

McCarthy tried to get Bennett to return as receivers coach, a role vacated when Luke Getsy left to be offensive coordinator at Mississippi State. However, Bennett obviously wasn’t happy about the demotion and decided to pursue other opportunities.

Trgovac had been with the Packers since 2009, the first season Dom Capers became defensive coordinator. Bennett had been with the Packers since 2005.
