Packers Promote Adam Pankey From Practice Squad

How many offensive linemen do the Green Bay Packers need? As many as they can get, apparently. Tackle/guard Adam Pankey was promoted from the practice squad to take defensive tackle Ricky Jean Francois’ roster spot.

Francois was released on Tuesday.

Pankey is an undrafted rookie from West Virginia. He’s the 10th offensive lineman on the Packers’ roster.

There are injury concerns about a couple of guys going into week 2. Right tackle Bryan Bulaga didn’t play in week 1 because of an ankle injury. Backup tackle Jason Spriggs hurt his hamstring — something he called a tweak — on an extra point against Seattle.

If those injuries remain in week 2, Pankey would in theory be the backup to David Bakhtiari and Kyle Murphy.

Yikes!

Let’s not think about that just yet, though.

This OL situation is comical beyond belief…10 roster spots and still zero depth. “Weekend at Ted’s” mental faculties need to be examined…feel bad for him if it’s CTE, Alzeimers, etc but the gap-toothed ginger needs to step in and put the organization first.

Also does Spriggs have any pride at all? He’s not embarrassed being beat out by a 6th round pick? Seems like Spriggs mailed it in after signing his rookie contract…he’s set for life if better at personal finance than playing football.

Look…i’m not one who will often stand up for Mark Murphy, but listen, that sledding hill isn’t gonna build itself, ok?

Gonna admit, i never heard of Mr. Spankey, but by the look on his face, it’s like he saying, today, you die MF’r. That, or he’s dropping a deuce.

I apologize in advance if it seem’s i’m not taking this season seriously, but it’s really only because i’m not taking this season very seriously.

  3. There should be concern with three offensive tackles. Bakh hurt his hamstring with a little over 3 minutes in the game. Bakh stayed in the game, but you could see it was bothering him.
