We often joke about the constant rash of injuries suffered by the Green Bay Packers. We all agree that injuries might actually be a huge part of Mike McCarthy’s legacy as coach.
Do the Green Bay Packers, under Mike McCarthy, ever have a full football team where a large number of key guys are either not on injured reserve or miss a considerable amount of time?
No.
A resounding, frickin’ NO!
And what injury brings down more guys than any other injury?
The goddam hamstring injury!
Clay Matthews alone has 17 pulled hammys a season.
So who wins the award for the first hamstring injury of the current year?
Cornerback Davon House.
House missed Monday’s practice with a hamstring injury. How bad is it, how long will it keep him out?
No news on that yet, but a leg injury isn’t the best thing for a cornerback to have. And unfortunately for the Packers, they are counting on House to be one of their starting outside corners. He has been the one constant in terms of running with the No. 1 defense at cornerback.
Hopefully, it’s just a precautionary move by the Packers.
Of course, we expect this to be the first of about 765 pulled hammys to crop up by the time camp ends.
