We’re always happy to document what a bunch of inconsequential losers the Detroit Lions are. Just last week, arguably the second-best player in franchise history, Calvin Johnson, said he retired because he knew he wouldn’t win a Super Bowl in Detroit.
We don’t blame him. This is, after all, a team that hung banners in Ford Field just for making the playoffs.
Boy, that’s one hell of a standard.
Well, no more!
Playoff banners are GONE at Ford Field.

We all know what the standard or goal is for the Green Bay Packers — championships.
We know what it is for the Minnesota Vikings — division titles.
Right now, getting back to being competitive will work for the Chicago Bears.
So previously, making the playoffs was the goal for the Lions. Apparently, that is no longer the case. What will they hang banners for now?
