The Jay Cutler Group
Yes, that’s right. We could care less if these guys are re-signed by the Packers. Here’s why.
11. Brett Goode, long snapper
I’m not sure how many times I’ve railed on why the center can’t just do this job, rather than some super specialist taking up a roster spot, but it’s been a lot. I get it. You gotta have a reliable long snapper, but these guys are a dime a dozen.
10. Christine Michael, running back
We would have liked for this guy to do something as much you, but outside of that 42-yard run against the Bears, Michael was not good. His totals with the Packers were 31 rushes for 114 yards and a touchdown. That’s a 3.7 yard average, which is substandard. Take out that 42-yarder and holy crap was he terrible! Michael averaged just 19 yards a game. The Packers are thin at running back, but they can do better and should.
9. Julius Peppers, linebacker
We appreciate the greatness of Julius Peppers. We also appreciate that he turned in 7.5 sacks in 2016. This is the end of the line, though. Even though the Packers utilized Peppers in a way designed to keep him fresh, he still did nothing in the playoffs, which is exactly when they needed a fresh Peppers to step up. The magic — and playmaking ability — is gone. It’s time to move on.
