NFL Network has just reported the severity of Green Bay Packers receiver Jordy Nelson’s injuries. They are saying Nelson has at least two fractured ribs.
We have speculated, if that were the case, that Nelson wouldn’t play against the Dallas Cowboys this weekend. However, the Packers will at least give him a shot of playing.
Nelson will rehab throughout the week, foregoing practice until Saturday. The Packers will work him on Saturday and that will determine if he plays on Sunday.
Doing anything with fractured ribs is painful, so playing with fractured ribs is no joke. Nelson wouldn’t be the first guy to play with that injury, though.
The injury came via a helmet-to-ribs hit by New York Giants corner Leon Hall in Sunday’s game.
Nelson didn’t return after the play, but the offense hardly missed a beat.
That’s why there’s hope for the Packers even if their No. 1 receiver is sidelined.
