The election came and went this week and a lot of people were both dissatisfied with their choices and the outcome. And that’s where you get absurd write-in votes for president, like the quarterback of the Green Bay Packers.
Aaron Rodgers appeared to be a popular choice for people who didn’t want to vote for Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton for president.
He wasn’t as popular as Harambe, a dead Cincinnati Zoo gorilla, though. Rodgers joked about that on Wednesday.
“I just want to thank all the voters out there who did vote for me,” Rodgers said. “I know for some people it was between me and Harambe. I think I finished second in that vote.”
Indeed.
Harambe reportedly got somewhere in the neighborhood of 15,000 votes for president. We’re not sure how many Rodgers got, but his total surely wasn’t that high.
