We noted when the Green Bay Packers brought former Pro Bowl tight end Kellen Winslow Jr. in for a workout back in August. Nothing ever came of that, but Winslow isn’t giving up the dream yet.
Although the guy hasn’t played in the league since 2013, he has been attempting a sometimes-publicized comeback. That hasn’t netted Winslow a job, but he says there’s interest from a number of teams. More interesting to us is that he says he really wants to play for the Packers.
A lot of guys want to play for the Packers, right?
Well, this may not be as entirely far-fetched as it once was. Jared Cook has a high ankle sprain and there’s no timetable for his return. Thus, the Packers will have just two healthy tight ends — Richard Rodgers and Justin Perillo — for at least the near future.
What’s more, they actually brought in a couple schlubs off the street for a workout on Tuesday.

That could suggest Cook’s injury is serious. And if that’s the case, who would you rather have on the roster? Rob Housler, J.P. Holtz or Kellen Winslow Jr.?
