You’ll be able to get a glimpse of Jordy Nelson doing something like practice for the first time in about a year on Monday.
Green Bay Packers coach Mike McCarthy said Nelson will go when the team practices on Monday. Nelson came off the physically unable to perform list earlier this week.
Full go? It doesn’t sound like that.
McCarthy said Nelson will focus on individual work with quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
“Aaron and Jordy will work as much as they possibly can on one-on-one routes and things like that,” McCarthy said. “We’ve got a plan; we’ll start that plan and based on how it works out [in terms of] play time, I can’t really answer that question.”
Nelson may not play in any preseason games this year. Rodgers hasn’t played in one yet, but we expect him to get some snaps in week 3.
However, after a year apart, these two obviously need to work on getting their timing and chemistry back.
That will most likely primarily take place in the controlled environment of practice.
