Not that you’ve seen much of him thus far, but you won’t be seeing receiver Kevin Dorsey at all for a while.
The Green Bay Packers’ second-year receiver hurt his foot in practice this week and has been listed as out for Sunday’s game. Apparently, the injury is significant. Coach Mike McCarthy said Dorsey will miss several weeks.
This isn’t exactly a huge blow for the Packers. Dorsey has played in three games since coming up off the practice squad. He has one catch for four yards.
Of course, that’s one more catch than Jeff Janis, who’s been on the roster all season, and one less than Jarrett Boykin, who we haven’t seen on the field since before a groin injury caused him to miss three games.
The point is, the Packers have really only played three receivers this season, but when they actually put another one on the field, it seems like Dorsey was that guy, at least of late.
Maybe now we’ll get to see a Boykin appearance once of twice more this season.
