[tps_title]3. Tight End[/tps_title]
The harsh reality is that Jermichael Finley probably played his last game for the Green Bay Packers this year. That’s a problem because the rest of the Packers tight ends don’t possess anywhere close to Finley’s athleticism and speed. The closest is Brandon Bostick, but he still isn’t any good as a blocker and that makes him a liability.
Do you want to wait around another year for him to pick that up? I don’t.
And if the Packers turn to Andrew Quarless, well, you’ve noticed the lack of production that’s been coming from the tight end position since Finley went down.
There are three juniors at the top of the tight end class — Texas Tech’s Jace Amaro, North Carolina’s Eric Ebron and Washington’s Austin Seferian-Jenkins.
Ebron has already declared for the draft and may best fit the Finley mold. He has 50 catches for 774 yards this season. He even rushed the ball twice, which tells you something about his athleticism.
