Well, the Green Bay Packers aren’t in last place in the NFC North. They distinction belongs to the Minnesota Vikings and worst quarterback in the league, Christian Ponder.
Those assholes are 0-3 after losing 31-27 to the Cleveland Browns on Sunday. Yeah, the same Cleveland Browns who started a third-string quarterback and traded their top running back to the Colts earlier in the week.
That third-string quarterback, Brian Hoyer, threw for 321 yards and three touchdowns. Meanwhile, Ponder threw for 228 yards and a pick, although he did run for two touchdowns.
And of course, being the swell brood they are, Vikings fans were booing Ponder during the game. Well, that doesn’t sit too well with Adrian Peterson.
“I got his back. He scored two touchdowns and kept us in the game,” Peterson noted. “They were cheering him when he scored and booing him when a pass wasn’t as good as they wanted it.”
So how awesome has Ponder been this season? He’s thrown for 691 yards, two touchdowns and five interceptions. That gives him a rating of 65.9.
The opposition is basically stacking the box to stop Peterson and daring Ponder to beat them. And of course, he hasn’t.
The Matt Cassell era is almost upon us!
Oh, and if you were wondering where Minnesota Vikings great Greg Jennings has been, the answer is nowhere. Three catches for 43 yards on Sunday. That gives Jennings a total of 11 catches for 160 yards on the season. Has he reached the end zone?
Nope.
Totally worth $14 million a season.
