Training Camp Observations 8-11, Full Pads
Aug 12th
It’s the last night practice of training camp. The Green Bay Packers decided to throw all the tourists off and change the schedule for the rest of the practices. They’ll now start at 11:15 a.m. Under pressure I know some of this could be attributed to [intlink id="305" type="category"]Dom Capers[/intlink]‘ defense, but the offense was [...]
Veteran Packers Who Should Be Worried
May 10th

The NFL Draft changes the face of every team’s roster and the Green Bay Packers are no exception, even though they’re the reigning Super Bowl champs. Several veterans will go into training camp to fight for a roster spot, while others will simply be let go during free agency. Here’s a look at which players [...]
Jarrett Bush Is An Asset
Feb 19th

Those are five words I never thought I’d write, but Jarrett Bush was actually an asset for the Green Bay Packers during the 2010 season.
No, he’s not an All Pro in the making, but the Packers faith in Bush, which often seemed misplaced, finally paid off. The idiotic penalties disappeared, Bush finally developed into a serviceable NFL cornerback and became one of the team’s best special teams players.
Whatever Happened To Brandon Underwood?
Dec 7th

Remember Brandon Underwood? During the summer, the Green Bay Packers were high on Underwood. Coach Mike McCarthy said he was the player who made the biggest second-year jump. Underwood came into training camp as the Packers nickel cornerback. Underwood played well during practice, but that didn’t carry over to the preseason games. Then he got [...]
McCarthy On Al Harris’ Release
Nov 8th

Veteran cornerback Al Harris can still play, but he didn’t fit into the Green Bay Packers plans. That was the message from coach Mike McCarthy after the Packers released Harris, on Monday. “We made a decision based on the overall depth and future of our roster. A number of different variables went into that decision,” [...]
Packers Release Al Harris
Nov 8th

It’s somewhat surprising it ended like this, but the Green Bay Packers have released cornerback Al Harris, a move first reported by Jason Wilde. Harris, who suffered a major knee injury last November, has been on the physically unable to perform list throughout the season. The Packers had to make a decision on whether to [...]
Rodgers, Matthews, Pickett Held Out, Shields Returns
Oct 13th

As expected, Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers (concussion), linebacker Clay Matthews (hamstring) and defensive end Ryan Pickett (ankle) didn’t practice on Wednesday. Rodgers has a shot at playing against Miami this weekend if he passes a battery of tests to see if he’s fully recovered from the concussion he suffered against Washington. Matthews also [...]
Packers’ Stars May Play Sunday
Oct 12th

The Green Bay Packers will be without tight end Jermichael Finley on Sunday, but it looks like their two biggest injured stars have a shot at playing. Quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who suffered a concussion on the final play of the game after a helmet-to-helmet hit, will miss some practice time this week, but hasn’t been [...]
Packers Not Impressive In Win Over Lions
Oct 4th

The Green Bay Packers got a win on Sunday, but their 28-26 victory over the Detroit Lions left a lot to be desired. The 0-4 Lions racked up more than 400 yards of offense in Lambeau Field and quarterback Shaun Hill threw for 331 yards and two touchdowns, largely on the strength of short passes [...]
Chillar Out, Shields Doubtful For Lions
Oct 1st

The Green Bay Packers will be without linebacker Brandon Chillar, who has an injured shoulder, against the Detroit Lions on Sunday, while cornerback Sam Shields is doubtful with a calf injury and not expected to play. You know what that means! Actually, in one case you do — A.J. Hawk will take the bulk of [...]
Packers Not Exactly Dominant In Season-Opening Win
Sep 12th

Maybe it’s time to table the Green Bay Packers Super Bowl talk for a bit. The defense, led by linebacker Clay Matthews, was the biggest reason the Packers were able to escape Philadelphia with a 27-20 win over the Eagles. Quarterback Aaron Rodgers and the Packers offense wasn’t close to firing on all cylinders, but [...]
Underwood Out, Neal And Bishop May Not Go Sunday
Sep 10th

The Friday injury report essentially determines who will play and who won’t on Sunday in the NFL. For the Green Bay Packers, cornerback Brandon Underwood has officially been ruled out and defensive end Mike Neal and linebacker Desmond Bishop are questionable. The good news is the Packers will have all their starters on the field. [...]
Nelson, Williams The Packers Primary Returners
Sep 7th

The Green Bay Packers will go into their week one game with the Philadelphia Eagles with receiver Jordy Nelson and cornerback Tramon Williams as their primary return men after cutting safety Will Blackmon, Saturday. Nelson will return kicks and Williams will return punts. Running back Brandon Jackson will also be in the mix as a [...]
Observations From Packers 17-13 Loss To Chiefs
Sep 2nd

The Green Bay Packers fell to the Kansas City Chiefs 17-13, Thursday night in their preseason finale. The game wasn’t easy to watch. The starters played only one series and veterans Aaron Rodgers, Ryan Grant, Donald Driver, Chad Clifton and Charles Woodson were healthy scratches. There were some interesting developments in the game, however, and [...]
Shields Playing Nickel, Lee In Danger Of Getting Cut
Aug 29th

Undrafted free agent cornerback Sam Shields looks like he’s just about locked up a roster spot on the Green Bay Packers. Pat Lee, a former second-round pick, looks like he’s in danger of getting cut. Shields served as the Packers nickel cornerback during Sunday’s practice. While some sources have suggested he could soon be taking [...]
