Thompson: Analysts Are Idiots

Ted Thompson

Green Bay Packers general manager Ted Thompson thinks everyone trying to figure out who the team will choose in the NFL Draft is an idiot. Thompson told Peter King he doesn’t think analysts know what they’re talking about. “There’s a lot of interest in the draft. It’s great. But quite frankly, most of the people […]

Jermichael Finley Is Back!

Jermichael Finley

Okay, maybe we’re jumping the gun a little bit. Green Bay Packers tight end Jermichael Finley is back in one sense, though. Finley started running routes and catching passes for the first time on Friday since injuring his knee in October.

Packers Are ‘Anti-Family’

Aaron Rodgers

Yeah, that’s right. Some blogger in Wisconsin named Deke Rivers thinks the NFL and Green Bay Packers aren’t family-friendly and don’t respect Christmas because the Packers will be the first team in NFL history to play on Thanksgiving, Christmas Day and New Years Day this coming season. Deke says Christmas and other holidays are about […]

Johnny Jolly Gets Probation

Johnny Jolly

Green Bay Packers defensive lineman Johnny Jolly will get probation after pleading guilty to his 2008 drug possession charge as part of a plea deal. Jolly was accused of possessing more than 200 grams of codeine, which is used in the popular drink purple drank, a combination of cough syrup, Jolly Ranchers and soda. A […]

Cameron Heyward: The Good, The Bad And The Ugly

Cameron Heyward

Ohio State defensive end Cameron Heyward has been the popular pick for the Green Bay Packers in a lot of mock drafts, recently. It’s not a surprise. Heyward seems to be floating somewhere in the 25-to-32 range, he’s projected as a 3-4 defensive end in the pros and the Packers will be down a man […]

Seven Green Bay Packers Make Top 100 List

Aaron Rodgers

Seven Green Bay Packers made CBSSports.com senior writer Pete Prisco’s top 100 NFL players of 2011 list. The top-ranked Packer should come as no surprise. QB Aaron Rodgers came in at No. 6 overall — behind Texans wideout Andre Johnson, Raiders cornerback Nmandi Asomugha, Cowboys linebacker DeMarcus Ware and (puke) quarterbacks Tom Brady and Peyton […]

2011 Green Bay Packers Schedule

Drew Brees

Providing there is an NFL season, the Green Bay Packers schedule will look like this. Thursday, Sept. 8 — New Orleans Saints, 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 18 — at Carolina Panthers, noon Sunday, Sept. 25 — at Chicago Bears, 3:15 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 2 — Denver Broncos, 3:15 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 9 — at Atlanta […]

Woodson, Williams On Cornerback Power Rankings List

Tramon Williams

Both of the Green Bay Packers starting cornerbacks, Charles Woodson and Tramon Williams, made ESPN’s cornerback power rankings list. Woodson finished third and Williams finished seventh. Not surprisingly, the top two in the rankings were the New York Jets’ Darrelle Revis and the Oakland Raiders’ Nnamdi Asomugha, who received all the first and second place votes.

Roethlisberger Thinks About Packers When He’s Taking A Dump

Ben Roethlisberger

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is a strange dude. He picks up random chicks in places he shouldn’t be and forces them to do things they don’t want to (allegedly). He also thinks about the Green Bay Packers while he’s on his throne.

Rodgers Won’t Get Madden Cover

Aaron Rodgers

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers will not be on the next Madden cover. Rodgers lost in his matchup with Cleveland Browns running back Peyton Hills. He lost 59 to 41 percent. Apparently, some Packers fans voted for Hillis because they were afraid of the Madden curse, even though Rodgers said last week he didn’t […]

Where Are They Now? Packers’ Draft Busts: 1980-1989

Tony Mandarich

Those of us who sat through it know the 1980s was a terrible decade to be a Green Bay Packers fan. I really can’t put the consistent level of ineptitude into words. It was embarrassing. One of the main reasons the Packers were terrible is because the team made some of the biggest idiot draft […]

People Really Like White Running Backs

Aaron Rodgers

I more or less thought it was a foregone conclusion that Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers would be on the cover of the new Madden game. If you recall, EA Sports and ESPN are running a tournament where people can vote for the player featured on the cover. It’s currently down to four players […]

Preparing For Finley’s Departure? Pack May Add Another Tight End

Jermichael Finley

We all kind of scratched our collective heads when the Green Bay Packers drafted tight end Andrew Quarless in last year’s draft. The team seemed stocked at the position at the time, with Jermichael Finley, Donald Lee and Spencer Havner. The Packers ended up cutting Havner, Lee didn’t perform and Finley got hurt, so it […]

Packers’ Schedule No One Cares About Released

Jamaal Charles

Well, we’re getting ahead of ourselves. We’re assuming there will be a preseason, which is no certainty considering the current lack of a labor deal. If there are four meaningless games in 2011, here’s what you get to look forward to as a Green Bay Packers fan. Some of the exact dates are TBD. @ […]

Matthews Fourth-Ranked Linebacker

Clay Matthews

It’s another installment of ESPN’s NFL power rankings. This time — linebackers. The Green Bay Packers’ Clay Matthews came in fourth in the rankings. The San Francisco 49ers’ Patrick Willis was the runaway leader in the voting. Willis was followed by the Pittsburgh Steelers’ James Harrison and the Dallas Cowboys’ DeMarcus Ware, who were separated […]

Packers’ Worst Draft Ever Set Tone For Decade

Those of us who lived through the 1980s Green Bay Packers would like to forget the experience. Other than the 1989 season, the whole decade was pretty much a loss. The highlights were few and far between. Sure, we got some good shots in on the Chicago Bears. Charles Martin killed their shot for a […]

You’re Hurting Jay Cutler’s Feelings!

Jay Cutler

The Chicago Bears main mouth breather, Jay Cutler, is finally talking. Cutler hasn’t spoken publicly since the Bears lost to the Green Bay Packers in the NFC Championship game, while everyone with any sense questioned his toughness for not playing the second half of the game.

Gbaja-Biamila, Wisconsin Senator?

Kabeer Gbaja-Biamila

Kabeer Gbaja-Biamila, former Green Bay Packers defensive end, sacked a lot of quarterbacks in his day. He won’t be sacking any Wisconsin politicians, though… yet. It was news to us, but there was speculation Gbaja-Biamila might run for the Wisconsin Senate in the event State Sen. Dave Hansen (D-Green Bay) were to face a recall this summer. […]

Illinois Governor Hasn’t Paid NFC Championship Bet

It won’t surprise anyone a politician is full of shit. Illinois governor Pat Quinn made a bet with Wisconsin governor Scott Walker over the Green Bay Packers NFC Championship tilt with the Chicago Bears. The loser of the bet agreed to work at a food pantry in the winner’s state wearing the opposing team’s gear. […]

2011 Green Bay Packers Draft Preview

Torrey Smith

The Green Bay Packers chose at No. 32 in the 2011 NFL Draft. While the team doesn’t have many glaring holes, there are several areas they need to shore up and improve. Primarily, the Packers need a pass-rushing outside linebacker to complement Clay Matthews, upgrades on the left side of the offensive line and center, and defensive line and wide receiver depth.
