Green Bay Packers coach Mike McCarthy confirmed the obvious yesterday, saying Desmond Bishop was the team’s No. 1 inside linebacker, but the rest of the group is surrounded by uncertainty.
The Packers confirmed Bishop was part of the team’s long-term plans after he took over for Nick Barnett and received a four-year extension in December. Meanwhile, Barnett and A.J. Hawk will be competing to start opposite Bishop.
Green Bay Packers quarterback was in Los Angeles last week hitting the Oscar party circuit.
According to the New York Post, he was also hitting on Black Swan star Mila Kunis.
Another day, another jerkoff defending Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler. This time it’s Bears offensive coordinator Mike Martz. Martz is here to remind us Cutler is tough and tell us he’s going to be an elite quarterback. You know, the same Jay Cutler that decided not to play the second half of the NFC Championship […]
Matt Flynn, the Green Bay Packers backup quarterback, has become a hot commodity since he started his first game in December. Flynn’s name has been tossed around as potential trade bait since then, but Packers general manager Ted Thompson doesn’t have any intention of moving him. “People are trying to get ahead of themselves, saying […]
You remember Kato Kaelin, right? That’s right — the guy who lived in O.J.’s guest house. Kaelin is also from Milwaukee and went to UWEC, so, of course, he’s a fan of the Green Bay Packers. Kaelin was on a show no guy can possibly watch, this week — The View. I mean, really. How […]
Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is a bad man. He wins Super Bowls, he vanquishes the memories of legends and he dates hot broads. Case in point, Gossip Girl star and Wisconsin native Jessica Szohr, who we first told you about in December. Well, our man ARod was in Hollywood at the Sunset Tower […]
The Green Bay Packers had to hire a new receivers coach, since Jimmy Robinson left to take the same position with the Dallas Cowboys.
They announced the move on Friday and it’s a familiar face, although not someone you would expect.
Former Packers running back Edgar Bennett will take over for Robinson. Bennett coached the Packers running backs for last six seasons. For the previous four seasons, he served as director of player development.
The Chicago Bears have given coach Lovie Smith a two-year contract extension.
Smith, who was entering the final year of a four-year contract, made $5.5 million under his old deal, making him one of the highest-paid coaches in the NFL. Assuming he didn’t take a pay cut, Smith makes slightly more than Green Bay Packers coach Mike McCarthy, who recently signed an extension paying him an average of $5 million a year.
The Oakland Raiders remain the only NFL team with a defensive coordinator opening and, for whatever reason, they’re in no hurry to fill it.
When head coach Hue Jackson does get around to interviewing candidates, Green Bay Packers assistant head coach Winston Moss and safeties coach Darren Perry figure to get a shot.
While several NFL teams have been slapping the franchise tag on their players, the Green Bay Packers won’t be using theirs.
There was speculation the Packers might use the tag on defensive end Cullen Jenkins or kicker Mason Crosby, both pending free agents, but Ted Thompson obviously thought the cost was too great.
Remember when Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler quit on his team during the second half of the NFC Championship game against the Green Bay Packers because his vagina hurt?
In case you forgot about it, I thought now would be as good a time as any to remind you.
Personally, I thought we made it pretty clear. Soon-to-be-former Oakland Raiders cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha isn’t likely to sign with the Green Bay Packers, even though he’s expressed an interest in rejoining former teammate Charles Woodson.
Sure, it’s a wonderful thought, pairing Asomugha with Tramon Williams and moving Woodson to free safety. Asomugha, Williams, Woodson and Nick Collins — three All Pros and one in the making.
Green Bay Packers linebacker A.J. Hawk was on NFL Network Tuesday, where he discussed the team’s Super Bowl win and his own future, among other things.
As we discussed before, Hawk is scheduled to make $10 million in 2011 and that’s a number the Packers won’t pay. The team will either have to renegotiate his deal or release him.
Wisconsin Badgers offensive tackle Gabe Carimi was one of the best offensive linemen in college football in 2010.
The Badgers left tackle won the Outland Trophy as the top interior lineman in college football, he was a consensus first-team All American, the Big Ten offensive lineman of the year and an All-Big Ten first-team selection.
Quarterback Aaron Rodgers became the second member of the Green Bay Packers to appear on the Ellen Degeneres Show since the team won Super Bowl XLV.
Clay Matthews joined Ellen two weeks ago.
