That was quick. The Green Bay Packers have already ruled safety Morgan Burnett out for Sunday’s game with the Chicago Bears.
Burnett, who just returned from a hamstring injury against the Detroit Lions, hurt his groin in that game.
And the hits just keep coming.
The Packers lost right tackle Bryan Bulaga to a torn ACL in that game as well. While some of us don’t really care about that, Burnett’s absence has been noticeable. He’s the leader of the defense and it hasn’t functioned as well without him.
Not that it has functioned well at all, but Burnett clearly makes a difference.
Burnett has 34 tackles on the season. We’re starting to wonder if he’ll have the chance to make anymore.
