Here’s a great headline on the Green Bay Press-Gazette’s site from Thursday.
“Well, what is this horseshit?” I said.
The story goes on to say how the Green Bay Packers have been focusing on their passing game this week. That they realize they are in a lull and are emphasizing the passing game in order to try to get out of it.
And again I ask, “What is this horseshit?”
If the Packers are just now realizing their passing game isn’t working properly… Oh, wait a second, I forgot. Buffoon is the coach of the Green Bay Packers and as he is totally unaccountable, nothing is ever wrong with his offense. He’s been looking at this thing through rose colored glasses for the past year.
Let’s be serious here though.
To think — or even suggest — the Packers aren’t ALWAYS focusing on their passing game is a stupid notion. The Packers have always been a pass-first team under Mike McCarthy. They remained a pass-first team when Aaron Rodgers started to struggle in 2015. They remain a pass-first team now, even though conventional wisdom and their personnel suggest they should win games by playing defense and running the football.
McCarthy’s teams emphasize the passing game just by being who they are.
Oh, but this is a heightened emphasis! Because we’re in a lull…
At least you finally realize what everyone else has known since last year. We can’t wait to see what magic the heightened emphasis on the passing game produces on Sunday.
Really can’t wait!
