Those are not our words, although… you know. Those are the words of former Chicago Bears tight end Martellus Bennett, who is now with the New England Patriots.
Bennett, as you are probably aware, likes to run his mouth. A lot.
And while we — and quite a few other people — had offseason dreams of Bennett becoming a member of the Green Bay Packers, that was never going to happen. The Packers would never knowingly bring someone onto the roster that’s outspoken. Not this regime. Can’t have anyone making waves, after all.
Bennett had some choice words about his former team when speaking to ESPN.
“We just had a bunch of bitches on the roster — that’s why we didn’t win games — and coaches liked the bitches,” Bennett said.
That’s funny.
Bennett also had some thoughts on our main man Cutty! We previously knew he called Jay Cutler the worst quarterback in the NFL, but he also criticized the franchise for expecting Cutty! to be a leader.
“Some people that you want to be a leader are not the guy that’s the leader,” Bennett said. “And everyone in the locker room knows that this is not the leader, but this is what you want the face of the team to look like.”
None of this is particularly surprising, especially considering Bennett played two of his three seasons with the Bears under Marc Trestman.
