Charles Woodson was pretty sure he could still play when the Green Bay Packers unceremoniously dumped him back in 2013.
He was right.
Woodson has put together three solid seasons with the Oakland Raiders since then.
And now, with the Packers coming to town, Woodson is constantly being asked about being released. He said he expected to finish his career in Green Bay, earlier this week.
He was much more to the point on Wednesday.
Woodson: motivation to play Packers, especially since he left there., "prematurely." https://t.co/TZJAoHwyQm

Or since he was forced out prematurely, if you really want to be accurate.
The Packers released Woodson because Big Ted didn’t think he could play anymore. So when they did so, they didn’t bother to offer the veteran a chance to return with a renegotiated (lesser) contract. Ted wanted to move on and so he sent Charles packing with nothing but a, “Thanks for the memories!”
You know how we feel about that nonsense.
And now you know how Charles feels about it, too.
No “This is just another game.” No “I had a great run there.”
Just payback. Charles wants payback.
So if the Packers lose on Sunday, we’re blaming Big Ted for screwing the pooch on this one.
