Stupid Chicago Bears.
The Bears poached defensive lineman Bruce Gaston off the Green Bay Packers practice squad on Saturday.
Gaston replaces Ego Ferguson, who was put on injured reserve, on the Bears’ roster.
It isn’t as if the Packers lost a big contributor, but Gaston had potential.
He had a hell of training camp and made the Packers’ roster to start the season. He played in two regular season games and registered one tackle.
Then the Packers decided they needed to put receiver Jared Abbrederis on the active roster. When they promoted Abbrederis from the practice squad, they released Gaston. When he cleared waivers, they signed Gaston back to the practice squad.
And what has Abbrederis done?
Nothing.
His stat line is empty, other than having played in one game.
We haven’t actually seen him on the field, but we’ll assume he ran around on special teams during that one game.
