The Green Bay Packers continued to tinker with their roster on Monday, releasing receiver Adrian Coxson.
And for the second time in a week, the player was an undrafted rookie receiver who was dealing with an injury. Coxson suffered a concussion on August 1 and hand’t practiced since. Much like with Ricky Collins last week, the Packers apparently got tired of waiting.
Collins started training camp on the physically unable to perform list because of a heel injury.
Clearly, neither of these guys had a shot at making the roster without being on the field. The Packers still have 11 receivers in camp.
Javess Blue, another undrafted receiver who’s been sidelined with a shoulder injury, better start to worry if he hasn’t already.
So big f-ing deal, huh?
Yeah, but there was a time not too long ago when people were comparing Coxson to Terrell Owens and Anquan Boldin. Those people are quite possibly idiots, but that really happened.
Coxson had a nice mix of size at 6-1, 210 and speed, having run a 4.3 40.
That doesn’t do you much good when you can’t get on the field though.
The Packers’ roster now stands at 87 players, which is three below the current limit.
