[tps_title]Defensive Tackle[/tps_title]
This is probably the most maddening. The Packers have both Letroy Guion, last year’s starter at nose tackle, and B.J. Raji, a former first-road pick, just sitting there staring them in the face. They’re saying, “Hey, c’mon and sign us already.” And there the Packers sit, doing nothing. The Packers could easily remedy this situation by re-signing both of those guys and we’d be perfectly comfortable with this position. As it is, the top nose tackle on the roster is Mike Pennel, an undrafted free agent last year who had eight tackles in limited action. The other guys who might qualify to play the nose are Bruce Gaston, a December waiver-wire pickup, and Luther Robinson, another undrafted guy who started 2014 on the practice squad. So just when the Packers maybe figured out how to stop the run, their run defense is poised to take a big step backwards because they don’t have anyone reliable to plug the middle.
