Aaron Rodgers practiced for a little while for the first time in two weeks on Thursday.
Rodgers reportedly took 50-60 percent of the snaps in team drills and he and his injured calf are no worse for wear a day later.
“Aaron Rodgers came through the practice with everything OK [and] feels good today,” Green Bay Packers coach McCarthy said. “Obviously we’re not practicing today, but he’s progressing forward, and I feel he will be available for the game.”
Availability was never really in question. Rodgers is listed as probable on the injury report and everyone knows he’s going to play.
He just won’t be scrambling around much, we suspect. It has also been suggested that the Packers will almost exclusively employ the shotgun formation on Sunday, in order to limit the stress on Rodgers’ leg.
McCarthy, of course, is playing coy.
“He has that experience,” McCarthy said. “It’s been talked about. We have a game plan. He looks like he’s moving fine to me right now. We’re not going to change anything or our approach of how we want to attack Dallas’ defense.”
It also appears that the Packers will have cornerback Davon House back for the game. House has missed three games with a shoulder injury, but is listed as probable. Safety Sean Richardson appears to be the only player in jeopardy of being unavailable. He’s questionable with a knee.
