Aaron Rodgers at the Bucks game

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is a serious basketball fan. So much so that he might end up owning the Milwaukee Bucks. Or a small part of them, anyway.

The Bucks were recently purchased by New York investors Marc Lasry and Wes Edens for $550 million. After the purchase, they said they wanted to add five to 10 local investors as part of their ownership group.

Rodgers isn’t exactly an investor, but he’s probably got enough cash to get a meeting. He apparently also has enough interest.

Now, Rodgers probably isn’t going to get more than a single-digit percentage of the team if he does end up becoming an owner of the Bucks. He might even get less.

Remember when Jay-Z was one of the owners of the Nets? He owned just 0.16 percent. He was kind of just there to sit court side and be Jay-Z.

And that’s fine. Rodgers would be great in that role.

He’d probably also be great in lobbying for some public money for a new arena. The Bradley Center, where the Bucks currently play, is a piece of crap when compared to pretty much any other NBA arena.

Maybe Seattle’s is worse, but that’s because it’s empty.

On the negative side, Rodgers’ obsession with the mid-range jumper and guys who shoot the mid-range jumper is well documented. So, how many #midrange tweets can you tolerate?
