Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is a really big fan of Drew Gooden.
Yes, that guy is somehow still in the league. He currently plays for the Washington Wizards, who are facing the Chicago Bulls in the playoffs. Gooden played for the Milwaukee Bucks for three seasons before joining the Wizards prior to this season.
So there’s that. But Rodgers is also a really big fan of the mid-range jumper.
Not the posterizing dunk or the clutch three. The mid-range jumper. Whenever Rodgers is talking about basketball, somehow the word mid-range works its way into the conversation.
Gooden is a well-known purveyor of the mid-range and as such, has become one of Rodgers’ favorite players.
QB1 let it be known that he’s throwing his support behind Gooden’s Wizards in this year’s playoffs because both the Bucks and Rodgers’ hometown Sacramento Kings are sitting at home watching them on TV.
That was probably somewhat inspired by the fact that Gooden sent Rodgers an autographed jersey. It had this message: “To Aaron, You inspire me bro! Thanks 4 the support!”

We’re not sure how, but Gooden managed to average 8.3 points and 5.2 rebounds per game for the Wizards this season. That’s not bad for a guy who’s been in the league for 21 years.
