Free agent tight end Jermichael Finley, who has generated next to no interest on the open market, is having more tests done on his surgically-repaired neck.
Finley, who missed the majority of the 2013 season with the injury, still hasn’t received clearance to resume full-contact drills.
This from Josina Anderson.
Finley told me he’s expecting to get an X-ray on his neck Thursday and an MRI within two weeks. Finley said his scans will be sent to Dr. Joseph Maroon , the Pittsburgh Steelers team neurosurgeon who performed his spinal fusion surgery. The plan is to exchange the feedback on his latest films with interested teams.
Finley has taken one visit since free agency opened — to Seattle. The Seahawks reportedly failed him on his physical. That pretty much threw off any other teams that might have been interested.
That includes the Green Bay Packers. IF Finley gets medical clearance, the Packers are reportedly interesting in re-signing him. Mike McCarthy said he’d like to have Finley back, earlier this offseason.
His future could be decided in a few weeks.
