[tps_title]Jarrett Boykin[/tps_title]
Okay, Jarrett Boykin beat out fan favorites Tori Gurley and Diondre Borel to make the roster as the Packers sixth receiver last year, so he isn’t exactly unknown to a lot of people.
He’s unknown to the people who started the Facebook page for Donald Driver to get more playing time, though. But they’re idiots.
All Boykin has done this preseason is be the Packers No. 2 receiver while Jordy Nelson and Randall Cobb have stood on the sidelines.
Now, don’t get me wrong, we don’t want to go into the season with Jarrett Boykin as the No. 2 receiver, but he’s looking like a hell of a No. 4 receiver.
He’s not fast. He doesn’t have ideal size. He pretty much doesn’t have any of the intangibles a GM looks for when they’re drafting receivers, which tells you why he didn’t get drafted last season. Boykin, in fact, caught on with the Packers because he performed well in a tryout.
He’s still performing well and he’s going to be the Packers No. 4 receiver. The things that the scouts overlooked — great hands, work ethic, will and desire.
