Ted Thompson

We figured since the Green Bay Packers won’t be signing any free agents of note this offseason, we might as well look back to grander times when they actually did do something in free agency.

You know, when Ron Wolf was the Packers general manager.

Picking a top list here was a tough exercise. After the top two guys, who are clearly the top two guys, there were a bunch signees that were impactful, but didn’t hold a candle to No. 1 and No. 2.

Still, we’re not going to insult you like some Bleacher Report clown and put Mike Prior — who never started more than four games in a season with the Packers — on the list. Really, somebody put him on a list of Packers best free agent signings — at No. 5, no less.

Another thing we didn’t do was consider undrafted free agents. Willie Wood and Paul Coffman were a couple of killers the Packers plucked from the undrafted ranks and they’d both be on this list if we weren’t focusing solely on traditional free agents.

So, let’s get to it.
