What is wrong with Payton Hillis replacing John Kuhn and drafting Montee Ball and keeping DuJuan Harris, James Starks and Alex Green? Hillis is a big man and makes a good blocker, like Kuhn, but as far as a runner/receiver, he is an upgrade over Kuhn. Then we use him for the runs inside the 5 yard line for power with BJ Raji at fullback to block. There is plenty of upside to signing Hillis. Let him compete with Kuhn for a spot and if nothing else the competition makes Kuhn a play harder. He hasn’t had competition for his job for 2 years and last year he was almost a non-factor for us. We need better production from hat position, and Montee Ball gives, backed up by DuJuan Harris gives us what we need at the other position.

Please don’t be morons. If you think one of these free agents is the magic ticket to the SB then you don’t understand the game.
Brett Fart didn’t bring Minnesota to the promised land. And Steven Jackson doesn’t guarantee a SB for the Packers.

The packers bring in a lot of guys but sign very few. If they are trying to pressure Jackson with a stiff like Hillis it’s laughable.

C’mon, we all know the drill—TT’s overpays his own favorites like Hawk and Crosby and low-balls everybody else. He disdains free agency.

One second thought…I could see Hillis and Jackson coming on board and Kuhn sticking around too…here’s why, check our our Super Bowl final roster from 2010 (see link). We carried three, remember THREE Fullback’s that year. If we want power and have pass protectors up front, then it’s obviously we need more blockers in the backfield or lined up outside of the tackles. This would bring more scheme flexibility on our roster…just let this thought soak in for a moment.

And of course lets not forget that Hillis almost had to retire last year after he caught a cold. I’m not sure he is suited for a stadium that isn’t climate-controlled.
