WRs are the most overrated position in football. Acquiring them normally does not make a big impact on a team’s fortunes.

The Bears without question improved their WR core by signing Brandon Marshall. Hell, they even got a good season out of him.

In 2011, without him, they finished 3rd in the division and missed the playoffs. In 2012, with him, they finished 3rd in the division and missed the playoffs.

It doesn’t matter how all-around talented a guy is if he is rarely on the football field. All those talents don’t do any good standing on the sideline in street clothes or sitting the bench.

Easy on the “handed them the super bowl” talk. #1, their coach is Pete Carrol. That guy is a douche, and I really can’t believe that a dude like that can coach in the NFL long term. I remember similar comments when the Eagles made all the off-season moves a couple years ago. If history tells us anything, the teams making splashes in the free agency and trade markets do not usually get to the super bowl. Maybe I’m wrong, but we’ll see.
