The decision to keep Finley should be a no-brainer. We are talking about only ONE more year here, and face it, there aren't any better options at TE on the roster (unless we're talking free agency).

It simply doesn't make sense to cut Finley and replace him with yet another unproven rookie in the upcoming draft. If the decision came down to a contract renegotiation, would J-Mike really refuse it and walk?

Aaron's leadership? Dude is paid to throw the ball. McCarthy is paid for leadership. And who cares what any of them say? ESPN is in charge of talking. Finley straight up doesn't catch the ball, or block. He is not a rookie, not even a third year guy. He should be capable of catching by now. At least Jennings can catch, I think he even blocks better.

A year ago, two years ago...maybe even six months ago I would have been all for Jennings and out with Finley. In fact I've been very vocal over the years about us getting rid of Finley, but I'm pulling a 180.

Who is younger and has more upside? Finley
Who wants to be in Green Bay and be a Packer? Finley
Who is often a dumbass and should never be allowed to speak to the press? Finley

So as you can clearly see from this very scientific study, Finley stays.

Also there's the new attitude and relationship he has with Rodgers which I believe to be genuine. He's still really young and might just be finally growing up. He wants to be here and his actions have demonstrated that.

Being that both Finley and Jennings have either personally or had family members air concerns about Rodgers' leadership, it's about time we consider that there's something to it and so should our quarterback.

On football merits...I'd def launch Finley and try to keep Jennings too. But I doubt that is even a remote possibility given the cash Jennings wants. I kinda like the restructure Finley's deal & tag Jennings then trade him idea....might as well get something for him. I could stomach another season of Finley if it means re signing those other guys, staying under/at the cap, and picking up a draft pick/pos need via trade. Its better than them both leaving while the organization sits there with dick in hand. And Rodgers cant have enuff weapons & Finley is that bcuz defenses respect him...even if that weapon drops half the balls thrown to him. lol It'll be interesting to see what happens!

Here's the plan.

Re-sign FinMe for something around $5M per year, structure it however TT and his agent agree makes the most sense.

Take the $3.25M that the team saves, apply that and the $1M they are no longer paying Driver and then make that extra $4.25M earnable by Jennings as real, tangible incentives.

The result:

FinMe's contract pays him what he's worth based on his performance on the field, not his mouth and the hype machine off of it.\

Jennings gets a contract that does three things:

1) Holds a big enough total number that he feels the love from the Pack. He has been "shown the money".

2)The Packers, through the incentives, are protected from injury related risks with Jennings.

3) Keeps the guy who has been the biggest playmaker on offense after AR in the stable without the distraction and media circus involved in the whole free-agency dance.

Oh, and by the way, I just saw a couple pigs fly past...

Release Finley, for god sake. Please. Move Jones to tight end if you must. Or promote crabtree and, on plays where the tight end is the primary target, put the punter in at quarterback. Crabtree and the ginger punter only make touchdowns. On a serious note, let finley go, please. Also, I hate that stupid dance he does.

Well, if it were up to me...I would keep Jennings and ditch Finely. To me that's a no brainer. However, Jennings obviously thinks he is going...he put his house up for sale right? Finley has proven to be more of a detriment than an asset. Why hesitate? Packers need a good, dependable TE that can block and catch a ball with out dropping it. Is that too much to ask?
