And what has Sherrod done, to earn your faith as quality "depth"?...When he was healthy, he couldnt beat out Newhouse, who is horrible. When he did get a chance to play, he looked lost and slow footed. Then he broke his leg...which according to the Packers crack medical staff, takes years to heal. pretty impressive stuff for a 1st round pick. Greg Von Roten?...You kidding me?....he's done what in the NFL?..............I guess Iltarian thinks a team has depth at a position, if their signed to a contract.

Those "experts" you mentioned evaluating the O line Iltarian....base most of their score for the O line on the production of the passing game. Thats why they ranked higher. Dont talk like the offensive line makes Rogers "look good". Its clearly the other way around.

Thats a nice post Iltarion..sweet....Just because Newhouse started at left tackle, doesnt mean he IS a starting left tackle...What it means is, they had no better option. Its no big secret Barclay is the worst pass blocker when you look at sacks per plays, followed closely by Lang and Marshall. PFF.Com ranked 54th among left tackles...To you that's a serviceable starter in the NFL? ....The left side of the line is extremely weak, i believe Lang would play better when they could get a left tackle who could hold his own. I dont know if you noticed it Iltarian, but the offensive line is always getting pushed back into Rodgers. But you seem to think Rogers holds onto the ball too long. Blame the inept line on Rogers, thats a good idea......truth be told, Its Rogers great play and footwork, that have kept the attention off of an inept O line.

NFL Scouts and talent evaluators typically rank the Packer offensive line in the top 10 in the league. So, they don't agree with your assessment.

http://www.rotoworld.com/articles/nfl/40484/179/2012-offensive-line-rankings

The above article is from prior to the start of this season. You'll see Evan Silva actually ranks the Packers' O-line #1 in the NFL.

Now, we know that's not the case, but the point is that people who get paid to know football seem to think our O-line isn't that bad.

Don't know if you've noticed the past couple years, but Marshall Newhouse IS a starting left tackle. He faced Jared Allen and Aldon Smith in the playoffs and gave up one sack. That was to Allen when Rodgers tried to run when he didn't need to and ran right into Allen, who Newhouse had blocked to the inside.

Yeah, depth looks fine. Barclay held up alright. And with Van Roten with some game time and Sherrod coming back from injury, the depth looks better than ever.

Like I said, this discussion is all a waste of time. The O-line is set for next year whether we like it or not.

If thats your starting 5. You can also bank on a lot of sacks. Rodgers was throwing an old friend a bone? yea, i'm sure it had nothing to do with Newhouse letting Rogers get smacked. Make no mistake about it....Mr Newhouse is NOT a starting left tackle in the NFL. Every year there are injurys on the O line, whats the depth chart look like Iltarion?...Barclay? Van Roten?...Kevin Hughes?...........Its time people admit, we have one of the worst O lines in the league. For those of you counting on 1st round pick Sherrod, being a player? Keep dreaming. The bottom line is...If TT is always looking for talent on the O line....He better start looking harder.

TT is always looking for talent, which explains the impressive depth of his rosters. It means nothing.

A-Rodge was throwing an old friend a bone, equally meaning nothing.

Newhouse, Lang, EDS, Sitton, and Bulaga. That is your starting 5 on Week 1 barring injury. Bank on it.

When Aaron Rodgers brings up the topic of bringing Chad Clifton back. Thats a good sign you have O line problems.....When Ted brings in a O lineman from the CFL....Thats about as much of an admission that you will get from him, that he's let the O line go to shit...............Good to see TT recently signed Kevin Hughes from the Chargers practice squad......That should fix the O line.
