Agreed Abe…..If he wants to still play…God bless him, i sense no bitterness with him, or the Packers. The thing is..with the Packers, in the 2010 season, he averaged 37ypg, in 11, he averaged 25 yards per game, in 12, he averaged 5.5 ypg…..He can still contribute, but just not for Green Bay. At 38, he’s in great shape, If he wants to play more, thats cool with me….But when he comes back and plays in Green Bay…At 1/2 time, lets put him up in the Ring of Honor…..He’s earned it in every way he could, as a player, and a man.

For me, It’s not THAT Brent went to Minnesota, it’s the how and why. I wouldn’t like seeing Drive in purple, but it would not have nearly the sting that seeing #4 did because of Favre’s motivation and deceit. This is a business after all. If we don’t want Driver any longer, I wouldn’t begrudge him employment.

To save the counter attack: the how was lying to the Jets about retirement, after lying to the Packers about retirement. They why was “to stick it to the Packers twice a year” If Brent just wanted to keep playing (as Driver may wish to), he would have stayed in NY where he could continue sexting Jenn Sterger. Mangini named his kid after him, after all! He had it made.

Wow is it ever hilarious that the Vikes just never get it. I will go with the notion that the vikes are truly interested. They make a habit of signing over the hill Packers. And time after time after time it may give them a short spurt of success, but it leads to a huge setback cuz they never end up developing any young talent in a young man’s game.
We are so lucky to have a front office that recognizes the need to stay young.
I love Driver. One of my 2-3 fav Packers of all time. But as hard as it is to say, its time to move on. Will miss him in so many ways. But, if he wants to play, and the vikes are dumb enough to set themselves back on another declining Packer, have at it.
