The Green Bay Packers were playing the Chicago Bears in the NFC Championship game exactly two years ago today — Jan. 22, 2011 — and defensive tackle B.J. Raji made the play of his career.
Ah, better times…
With 6:12 remaining, the Packers were up 14-7 on the Bears. On 3rd-and-5 from their own 15, third-string quarterback Caleb Hanie drops back to pass. The Packers ran a zone blitz on the play, forcing Raji to drop into coverage. Hanie obviously didn’t expect that and got picked by the largest man on the field, who then returned the gift for a touchdown and did a little dance.
Hanie was in the game because both Jay Cutler and backup Todd Collins got hurt in the game. Although, some would suggest Cutler was more “hurt” than hurt.
Raji’s TD would be the Packers final score in a 21-14 win.
