Just Like Us, Aaron Rodgers Will Skip Pro Bowl
Ah, the Pro Bowl, the yearly all-star game no one cares about. Like us here at the home office, Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers won’t be caring about the game either.
That’s because he won’t be there.
Rodgers announced today he was pulling out due to multiple injuries.
Before you express surprise, this is par for the course. Half of the guys elected to the Pro Bowl end up pulling out because of both injuries and “injuries.”
Rodgers, who was scheduled to start for the NFC, has lingering issues with his ankle and knee.
So, once again, you’ll end up with not only a diluted talent pool that doesn’t properly represent the best players in the NFL, but you’ll get to watch those players give about 50 percent of their full effort. That is, if you actually watch this snooze fest.
Interestingly, Rodgers actually showed up for the Pro Bowl last season when he easily could have been nursing “injuries.” He openly criticized other Pro Bowlers for not giving their full effort (or anything close to it).
We’re not going to suggest Rodgers isn’t beat up. He sucked up 51 regular season sacks this year (second most in the league). However, we are going to suggest he has no desire to play in the Pro Bowl regardless of whether he was healthy of not.
When is the Pro Bowl, you ask?
Don’t know. Don’t care.
