I guess Sam Shields answered the question of what we would do with him once he came back- play him.

It wasn’t all defensive ineptness at the beginning of the game. The Lions were also executing at an extremely high level. They couldn’t keep it up though.

The 49ers have to play at New England and at Seattle yet, which means if the Packers win out, they likely take the 2nd seed and the bye.

We could use that bye even more than the home field.

In that same scenario, if they won in the wildcard round, the 49ers would come to Green Bay for a rematch in the divisional round while the Giants went to ATL. If the Giants then beat ATL, the NFC Championship Game would be in Green Bay again- NYG vs GB.
