James Jones Talks to Himself

James Jones and Aaron Rodgers

Green Bay Packers receiver James Jones is a strange cat. He’s taken to talking to himself during games. Says it helps keep him focused.

Jones apparently has taken to yelling at himself between plays, saying things like “focus” and “stay focused.”

“Even some of the DBs have asked me, man, what are you talking about?” said Jones, laughing.

Whatever you gotta do, bro.

It seems to be paying off. Jones, who’s been known more for dropping the ball than hanging onto it, has zero drops this season and he’s on pace for a career year.

At his current pace, Jones would finish with 72 receptions, 802 yards and 14 touchdowns, all of which would be career highs. It would also make the impending loss of Greg Jennings as a free agent much easier to take.
