SI’s Bill Syken on Football’s Greatest (Win a Copy Here!)
Recently, we sat down with Sports Illustrated editor Bill Syken, who put together what is actually one hell of a coffee table book — Football’s Greatest. As you would expect (and would only be appropriate), the book has a heavy dose of the Green Bay Packers.
The book features top 10 lists of the greatest players by position, coaches, teams, games, stadiums, franchises and a whole hell of a lot more. As with any project like this, there’s bound to be debate and controversy. You can find out more about the lists and our main points of contention with them by listening to our interview with Bill.
Like, how the hell the 1962 Packers lost out to the ’85 Chicago Bears (and two other teams) in the list of the greatest teams ever. Preposterous! Or how the second-best quarterback in Packers history made the top 10 quarterbacks list, but the Packers best quarterback didn’t. Heresy!
Listen to the interview and then we’ll tell you how you can win a copy. You can find a list of Packers on the lists below.
Once you’ve given the interview a listen and heard all our gripes about the Football’s Greatest lists, tell us what your biggest complaint is and why. You don’t even have to agree with us.
Leave your answer in the comments below and consider yourself entered to win a copy of the book, which is hardcover, features classic SI photos and articles and retails for $32.95.
We’ll choose the most well-thought-out argument and send you a copy of Football’s Greatest.
Hurry up and do it though, because we’ll be choosing a winner on Nov. 20.
