Bryan Bulaga Could Be Gone a While
The Green Bay Packers are getting prepared to be without starting right tackle Bryan Bulaga for an extended period. That could be several weeks or even the rest of the season, according to the Press Gazette.
Bulaga suffered a hip injury against Arizona and with the Packers off this week, they likely won’t know (or at least reveal) the extent of Bulaga’s injury until early next week.
So what happens if Bulaga can’t play for a while?
The Packers will do what they did on Sunday — move left guard T.J. Lang to right tackle and insert Evan Dietrich-Smith into Lang’s spot.
Dietrich-Smith actually started three games last season for the Packers when right guard Josh Sitton was injured. During that time he held his own, although he’s most remembered for getting stomped on by that turd from Detroit on Thanksgiving.
Lang has also played his share of tackle. He’s filled in at both right and left tackle and he was a full-time left tackle in college.
Considering Bulaga’s level of play — which we’d term as average — the Packers shouldn’t be in too bad of shape. If another offensive lineman goes down, that’s another story.
The Packers don’t have another offensive lineman with any experience. The remaining backups — Don Barclay and Greg Van Roten — were both undrafted free agents this season.

Not good at all is sherrod close to coming back

He’s off the PUP list, but hasn’t practiced yet. He has 3 weeks until the Packers have to place him on IR or the active roster. In short, he’s closer, but not close.

I hope Sherrod show enough progress in those three weeks to get on the active roster.

This is why, when everyone was calling for the Packers to trade for a running back/ Steven Jackson a few weeks ago- I was saying the better thing to do if any trades were going to go down was to try and trade for a decent offensive lineman. But, No… and now here we sit with no one in the wings to take over if anyone else gets injured.

Not good at all is the fact that in 6+ years good ol Teddy has managed to create an O Line that leads the league in sacks given up and now we just got a little weaker.

Please.. I don’t care what it takes. You’ve got to try to get Bulaga back for the playoffs, should the Packers make it.
