Rodgers had all day to throw on most plays. Two sacks were coverage sacks. The pass blocking was great. And not running the ball well is nothing new, especially against a tough front seven. The o line had a good game. How many penalties did they have? Two at most? Not a smart observation to say the line was bad.

C Wood being out HAS to impact our defense. He wasn't great in coverage this season, but he was big against the run and his leadership speaks for itself. Tough loss.

I agree with 4 of the points, especially on Brad Jones. Apparently, there is a BIG difference between the two ILB spots since Capers refuses to interchange players there. Francois is Hawk's back up, and they refuse to put him on the other side, even though he would appear to be the next best player.

However, I disagree strongly with all the bitching and moaning about the offensive line. Bryan Bulaga was alone against Chris Long all day, and Chris Long never got a sniff (0 sacks, 0 tackles, 1 assist). Long's only good play was when Bulaga pancaked him and the ref was so shocked by the ass-whooping that he called Bulaga for holding.

Rodgers was sacked 3 times, but one of those was when he ran out of the pocket and was tackled just short of the line of scrimmage. Another was when he pump-faked, held it, and pumped again, only to get tackled for the sack.

TJ Lang got his ass-kicked all day by the Rams rookie, Michael Brockers, who repeatedly drove him into the backfield to blow up run plays. So, yeah, bad game for Lang. Newhouse was OK in giving up 1 sack against a speed rusher on his home turf. Saturday and Sitton weren't notable for good or bad.

Yeah, the run blocking sucked but I'd have to see the tape on that because it only takes one guy not doing his job to blow up a run play.

More touches for Cobb...
We can utilize him as a dangerous weapon.
I liked the run plays called for him also.
Excellent offensive game-plan called overall.

Grade = B+

Definitely agree with the first point. I have been a huge Lattimore fan/supporter. I think his shear athleticism would do wonders for the pass defense both in zone coverage and as a blitzer. It's nice that Jones and Hawk know where their zones are, but why not put in Lattimore or even Francois, guys who have displayed a knack for making plays in coverage - & I don't mean making the tackle after a reception.

Agree partially on Hayward - he's making some big plays. But remember, he hasn't really been isolated on a true NFL talent at receiver. Yes, his INT at Indy was while covering Wayne, but he wasn't following Wayne around all game. Shields may have lost his starting job, but time will tell if Hayward (love his game) has the starting spot locked up or not this quickly in his rookie year
