This is an awesome opportunity for the Packers to put their young cornerback talent on stage. Davon House was all but set to be the starter before his shoulder injury during the offseason. I am excited about that especially since Hayward has looked great out there and still House was better than Hayward at that point- not to mention the way Sam Shields has looked this season. On top of that, I have really liked what i have seen from McMillin at safety. He has had rookie mistakes, but if you remember how good Nick Collins was in his first couple years- McMillin looks better now than Collins did in his first couple years and look how he turned out as a player. So i am excited to see how they all play together.

It's just crazy the Packers have drafted heavy at CB and safety the last couple years no? It's almost as if they anticipated the loss of CWood.
I almost hoped they'd want to sit him for a bit the next few games to give the new guys some game time over the next two games. I guess it'll be a bit more than that but maybe they get their legs under them sooner.

I predict right now that C-Wood will be back for either the Giants or the Vikings. This is a 4-6 week injury, and C-Wood has had a more extensive break of his clavicle before.

This makes the Packers very young on the back end with Tramon Williams now suddenly being the "veteran" of the secondary.

We will see how this affects our run defense, which is where I would expect the biggest impact. The good news for the Packers is that they have been playing MD Jennings and Jerron McMillian a lot, and you might actually be IMPROVING the coverage in the nickel by allowing either Hayward/House or Hayward/Shields to be on the field at the same time.

Also, as Monty correctly noted, this is a good place in the schedule for this injury. Neither JAX nor AZ have offenses that will likely be able to take advantage of any perceived weakness.

Agreed with both comments. C Wood is a big time leader for the Pack, however our depth at all positions except for QB is pretty awesome. Good job, Teddy! Go Pack Go!
