Are you crazy? You don’t need to run the ball? The 2010 GB, NO & NE rushing yards were 1606, 1519 & 1973 respectively (that’s 100+ yds/gm for two & almost as many for NO). Regardless of attempts, you need a viable running threat to keep defenses honest & draw them in the box, conversely, one dimensional (passing or running only) is to predictable & easy to defend. Think ATL vs. GB last year (ATL takes that game if they keep the M. Turner pounding going instead of pass only in 2nd half) & NO vs. SEA (2010) everyone knew NO was done when R. Bush was their only running game & what happened! Yes, of course you need a running threat!

The Pack were near the bottom in rushing attempts, att per/game, yards per/game and total rushing yards the last two years. In fact GB, NE and New Orleans (the three most high powered and high scoring offenses in the league the last two years) have run the ball almost 200 times less than anyone else in the league. Who was the Pack’s leading rusher in 2010? (without looking it up — cause I know you don’t know).

You don’t need to run the ball period. New Orleans has the best offense in the league for the third year in a row and they run the ball as much about as much an intelligent thought enters your head.

You must have Cedric Benson on your fantasy team. That’s the only reason you could be stupid enough to think that this offense seriously needs to run the ball to win.

Finley too. The windows Rodgers has to throw into are smaller. Then the safeties over the top are limiting the big play. I think we really miss Jennings and the consistency he brings.

As for running the ball, what it brings is an opportunity for the OLine to flex its muscles and dominate a little bit. It wears down the defensive line. I think Benson is the best back we’ve had here in terms of making something out of nothing since Ahman Green.
