Hey Monty,

Our offense scored a franchise record 35 points a game last year, which was also the 2nd most points in NFL history. How big was our running game then?

Yes, I was screaming for a run in the 1st half as well, but I seem to remember A LOT of 2nd and LONGs. Tough to run the football when you are constantly in long distance situations.

The Packer offense used to get 268 yards in a half? YEah, like Monday night. The vast majority of those yards were gained in the 2nd half, which the Packers dominated on offense and defense.

PErsonally, I thought our MVP QB was back in the 2nd half. HE made some GREAT plays that half.

Great point. I also wonder about that. I saw 3 weeks of DBs raping WRs. I really wonder how different the 49er game could have been if there had been real refs there.

a good point is made that the hail mary debacle covered up the fact that the offence was poor. I think the real problem is our mvp quarterback is being thrown on the ground almost every play, why get ourselfs into these 3rd and long situations and just become predictable.

The frustrating thing is all last year the defence was terrible and the offence was amazing, and now this year the roles are reversed. Why cant they both be firing on all cylinders at the same time?

The running game is essential for us. We must committ to the run for the following reasons.

1. We have a very capable running back in Benson who we will need as we go down the stretch and is a very powerful running inside the tackles.
2. The offensive line is built to run on people. Our interior linemen could be the best trio of interior linemen in the league. Saturday may be older, however he is still very capable of being a solid center in this league.
3. Defenses are double teaming our receivers because they know we're going to throw the ball 90% of the time.
4. Play action will never open up unless you show the other team that you have a threat in the running game.

At the end of the day, we got hosed on a call, but GB never should have been put in that position in the first place. MM is a good, strong character/ No BS type of a coach which I like, however he is very stubborn at times and has too much confidence in Rodgers to be the miracle maker. Rodgers is a great QB, however he, like any other great QB in the league, needs complementary players around him to get the job done.

McCarthy definitely needs to run more. Benson is good enough to produce if given opportunity and an O-line that doesn't play like a bunch of transsexuals. Rodgers might deserve some blame too, pretty sure he has a run or pass option on many plays and goes with the pass option 99% of the time.

I haven't seen Aaron Rodgers yet this year. Did the Packers trade him? Some guy is out there wearing #12, but if it's Rodgers, I sure don't recognize him. After three games I'm left scratching my head. The "real" Aaron Rodgers has just completed about four dominant seasons and has reached the status of the ultra-elite QBs.

Once these scabs are back working for the lingerie league, it will be interesting to see how much better these pass-heavy offenses can operate without defenses being allowed to get away with on-field rapings like they are now.
