no, no, no…why does everyone keep saying this (particularly on this site)?? there truly was no lack of pass rush against the 49ers. fact: their pass rush was actually quite good. clay had 2.5 sacks and woodson had 1.5 for a total of 4 sacks (clay was 0.5 sack away from his single game sack record). alex smith only dropped back 26 times the whole damn game.

for the record, thats the highest sack rate per attempt though one week in the entire NFL. i dont see how thats a weak rush. they got the ball out quickly and efficiently, but that doesnt mean there was no rush. i think people need to settle down a bit, we’ll be just fine. we’ve played one game.

Tramon will cover Marshall and be fine. Jeffreys doesn’t play a lot. He is basically their 4th WR with Hester and Bennett still 2 and 3.

I don’t believe the Bears can win this game by throwing it around. They need to get Forte going.

The Bears were getting a ton of hype Pre-season, too. I guess because they finally A legitimate wide receiver. I’ve seen a lot of predictions that they’ll take the NFCN and even some predicting a super bowl run. If Urlacher is as slow and ineffectual as I believe he’ll be, their D will not be as dominant as it needs to be. Maybe just wishful thinking on my part.

This should be interesting to watch. I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a team get more hype after beating a 2-14 team from the year before than this Bears team is getting right now.
