I don’t think anyone needs to tell TT or MM how to run a successful team. I feel quite confident that if Gurley or Borel are better players than DD, then they will make the team.
However, Gurley and Borel have a lot to prove before they can make that statement.

Hines Ward MIGHT have been a better player during his prime than DD, maybe, tough call. But he was NOT a better player in his final year.
I remember watching him during my dozen or so viewings of the Super Bowl, and dude was slower than a TE without the size.

I shouldn’t have made such a strong statement in my original post, but the point is, if they are better players right now, they need to get the nod over him. Which seems likely.

I will NOT have this conversation again. Keeping driver at the expense of a 2 year practice squad player will not keep us from the super bowl. Driver stays. He retires a packer. PERIOD.

How do you know? How can you be sure that a snap where Driver drops the ball in a playoff game that could’ve been into a big game by a rising young stud wouldn’t cost us a SB? There’s no way you can know that. And Driver has one of the crappiest drop rates of any receiver of the last three years, and now he doesn’t have the athleticism to justify squat. I think we need to move on, the Steelers did it with Hines Ward, who was a better player when he retired and a better player throughout his career.
