I’m just hoping Saturday will help the O-line hold a little better than in the past couple of seasons, including making the option more of an actual threat. Actually, all I hope for is Rodgers getting the kind of protection that will allow him even more time to make decisions behind center. Can you imagine A-Rodge’s numbers if he had the kind of time Tom Brady gets????

Or couldn’t do that….I wonder if “The Sheriff” will have as much control in Denver as he did in Indy. Most of the Colts fans I know feel like Manning was the defacto Offensive Coordinator in Indy. I wonder if he will wield as much power with the Broncos? Of course, I’m sure getting rid of Tebow was part of the deal, so who knows!

That’s considering Saturday has a good attitude about training someone. It is pretty obvious the Pack isn’t thinking long term about Jeff so he can’t be all that thrilled at the prospect of being used for his talent and training, then sent packing (no pun intended).

There is pretty much no doubt the packers will draft a centre in the mid rounds this year and if you where a young centre would there be anyone else you would want to help groom you then someone as accomplished as Jeff Saturday. I think this works for the packers on more than one level?

I love the signing of Saturday and think it’s about as perfect a signing as we could get considering the money he’s getting. Draft a center and groom him.

Denver has a good, young center in J.D. Walton. Unless Manning told Saturday without a doubt he would be the starter (cause it’s Manning offensive) there was no guarantee that he would get the job. I’m guessing Manning didn’t do that.

Scott Wells’ contract is for 4 years at 24 million with 13 million guaranteed. That’s without incentives, the Rams are paying him 6 mil a year.

We are paying Jeff Saturday less than 4 mil a year.

This is another clear signal of what this offense is going to be about. More of the spread offense, more of the hurry-up, more of the shotgun. Eff the running game. Expect more games like the season ender against the Lions. Points and yards galore. Here we come.

So we get a 5-time Pro-Bowler for 2 years at about the same price the Rams have wells per year, seems like a pretty good deal to me.
