Also, no matter how much Rodgers denies it, there is pressure to get him the ball to shut him up which wastes valuable time, especially with the drops. I wonder if it wasn’t a coincidence the team won 4 playoff games without him.

But is he willing to run better routes… he is the only guy Rodgers had to call out not once but multiple times and he is quick to throw others under the bus.

You can have all the talent in the world but that doesn’t mean it will materialize. He is mentally weak and not a team player I’ll take my chances on the young ryan taylor and dj williams both look very promising and hopefully quarless will be back by mid-season as well.

Plus that open spot could be used to keep donald who mentoring of the young guys is more valuable than anything.

since we are throwing out opinions here, swap Finley and Gronkowski and their stats would probably change too, he probably wasn’t 100% healed after knee injury and may be quicker next season…anyone comparing any other Packer TE’s to Finley ?? no

Sign Finley and Wells, draft for defense physicality and pressure and sign a FA based on health of N. Collins. If healthy, draft another safety prospect mid rounds anyway. I like Lavonte David (undersized college OLB = NFL In the box SS), release Peprah.

Finley improved as a blocker this season. He scares the crap out of defensive coordinators more than any TE on that list except for Gronk, Graham and Davis.

He was not known for dropping passes before this last season. Again, that is something that can be cured.

His main problem is running routes. He relies on his speed and athleticism alone to get open, and if that doesn’t work, he expects his QB to throw him a jump ball, which considering his QB are not likely to be forthcoming.

In contracts, timing and age mean more than ranking. Obviously, Finley is worth more than Gonzalez, Witten, and Gates because of his age. He is worth more than Davis, Gronk and Graham because his contract is up, and theirs are not.

The Saints, Eagles, Lions, Giants and 49ers can’t be expected to be any worse next year. The Packers don’t need to lose a weapon of this magnitude. Sign Finley or franchise tag him. Sign Wells. Move forward, not backward, or get lost in the turmoils of a very strong NFC.
