The new GM will be forced to accept Lovie for a year. With Martz leaving, Lovie just might have a hard time finding an OC that wants the job. He had a few people turn him down last time, iirc.

The right way to do this is to say Lovie’s job is up to the new GM we hire so he can hire whomever he wants. If you’re cleaning house, don’t do it half assed.

I’d hate to see McKenzie go to a division rival, but would like him to do well. He’s certainly deserving.

He consulted with Rocky Wirtz and John McDonough who turned the Blackhawks around so who knows with the Bears. The way the NFL is they could be good in a couple of years, or with any luck, suck for another 10.
