I was confused to what the difference is… and finally figured out what they were saying.

“The horseshoe is often confused with the fu manchu, which is grown only from the upper lip while the sides remain shaven.”

The Fu Manchu hangs from the lip like an icicle… it’s not attached to the sides of the mouth or chin.

The Horseshoe is attached all the way down.

And guysocke… not only is wiki never wrong… but everything I read on the internet is true.

David is right. I grew the same arrangement that Aaron has and was often corrected by mustache enthusiasts when I would refer to it as a Fu Manchu. Plus, wikipedia is NEVER wrong.

I’m not sure that counts as a Fu Manchu, wiki says it’s a Horseshoe.

A horseshoe moustache is a full moustache with vertical extensions grown on the corners of the lips and down the sides of the mouth to the jawline, resembling an upside-down U or a horseshoe. The whiskers grown along the sides of the mouth in the horseshoe are sometimes referred to as “pipes”.

The horseshoe is often confused with the fu manchu, which is grown only from the upper lip while the sides remain shaven.[1]

Gotta love the first photo. Rodgers seems like the kinda guy to have a few beers with, always up for a laugh but knows when to take things serious too. Legend.
