That isn’t likely to change with Clay Matthews, Josh Sitton, and Greg Jennings needing extensions in the near future.

Yes, Finley and Flynn also need extensions, but they aren’t likely to get one.

I thought grant was going to be integral this year but if Starks will be the guy at a fraction of the cost so be it. Obviously TT knows what he’s doing (see last year and Brett Favre) so he’s earned the right. And if grant turns in a great year…. even better. We got a great season at a savings.

They’ve rewarded their players that contribute better than most teams. Grant got his extension and bonus a few seasons ago. But he hasn’t performed up to those standards since.

Just like in everyday economics, competition drives costs down. James Starks and Alex Green are Grant’s competition and they’re providing a better value. Grant hasn’t shown to be the invaluble peice to the puzzle as he once was 2-3 years ago.

Free agents aren’t lining the gates to come to Green Bay because TT doesn’t invite them. Green Bay grows and develops their draft picks. Rewards them when they perform, and replaces them when they dont.

It looks like a pretty successful business prtocol so far.
